WhackBurger

Whackburger is near my workplace right across the street from the Madison Theater. I found parking easy enough on the street but my guess that was a fluke. I waited in line and looked at the exciting decor. The walls are decorated in various comic book pages as is the menu theme. I waited in line for about 5-10 minutes to place my order.

I ordered the green chile and egg burger with a substituted turkey burger. I skipped the drink but opted for the house made chips. I was a wee bit shocked to pay $11 for this meal. It had better be good.

Sigh, where do I begin. First I had to wait 25 minutes for my burger. Second, it seemed 100% frozen which I guess I could expect from a turkey burger but probably not from a place that claims to be a "fresh" gourmet grill. Third, they didn't grill the bun. Huge pet peeve of mine. Why bother to serve a burger on a nice but but not grill it or do anything to it. Whatever, I don't eat the bun anyways. Fourth, yes there is a fourth. Fourth, the chili was bland. This was not green chile chili that one might expect to get in say New Mexico, which is what I "assumed" it was inspired by but simply canned green chiles dumped on the burger.  Yawn.

I did however very much enjoy the chips.

I also found it weird that you can turn any burger into a salad. Interesting idea. I'd really have to give that a 2nd chance to see if that's a tasty sensation or just a greasy mess. My guess is the latter.
