Turophilia Quesadillas

I had heard tale of the Waylon Jennings quesadilla and had to find out for myself. I made the trek to Turophilia HQ on 7th and Vine and was pleased with everything but the heat. I could actually feel my feet burning in the sun on my Michael Kors flip flops. I ordered my Waylon Jennings and waited patiently.

Turophilia isn't a food truck of normal definition, it's a food.....trailer. Specifically they're custom made and served to you out of a vintage Air Stream trailer. My quesadilla was ready in a good amount of time and I sought refuge within my air conditioned car to take a bite.

Here's Waylon is in all his glory.

I've gone on and on about WJ and not told you a bit about what it is. It is very simply a tortilla, Monterey Jack cheese, horseradish pickles, Eli's BBQ pulled pork, coleslaw and BBQ sauce. And it is unreal how delicious it is.

I think in 3 weeks I've had it for lunch 3 times. I also took my husband who is kind of a barbecue connoisseur and he loved it. Honestly I've only had the WJ but the other recipes sound so delicious I'm sure they won't disappoint. The offerings rotate daily based on demand, and what's on hand so be sure to check their Facebook page for the day's selection.

Catch Turophilia downtown during traditional lunch hours.  Call ahead for faster service and enjoy your yummy food.
