Sonny's Three Meat Burgers

Um yeah. We were passing through Beechmont on the way to pick up my car from our mechanic and we stopped here. I was going to go here once upon a time last year but I couldn't remember where it was or what it was called. It was some sort of delicious sounding food mirage.

You're very warmly greeted by a couple who runs Sonny's. The have a giant Dave Brubeck poster so I was sold already. We ordered a double cheeseburger, a single, some fries and an order of chili. When I say you can add any toppings to your burger, I do mean any. From cheese, to pickle, to sour cream to barbecue sauce, to jalapenos. Lots of good stuff available to customize your burger.

Their fries are very good. On par with Penn Station but crispier. That was a regular order and it was almost half the size of the tray.

I'm not sure if I can adequately describe their chili which is not a pretty photograph below. It was about the same consistency as say a Cincinnati style chili, but with beans (maybe great northern?) but it was a little bit sweeter in flavor and much meatier. DUNK YOUR FRIES IN IT! You're welcome.

Here's Pat's double. The guy who runs the place (Possibly the eponymous Sonny himself, I forgot to ask) was so nice that he gave Pat a free double patty. Awww... Pat reaaaaaaally liked this burger. It wasn't too greasy, and the lamb just made it so juicy and flavorful. Think like a gyro burger.

I really loved my burger as well. It's a very hearty patty though. I ended up eating mine with a knife and fork. I'll be back for sure, I just need to find more reasons to go to Beechmont first.
