La Piazza Al Forno

I really love wood-fired pizzas. This is another location that comes recommended by Diners, Drive-ins and Dives. This is a beautiful location with a great atmosphere. We were seated promptly and ordered 3 pizzas (2 Italian Stallions which have: San Marzano Tomatoes D.O.P., Homemade Mozzarella, Prosciutto di Parma (cotto), Sopressata, Schreiner’s Sausage and Pepperoni and a Bianca which has: Homemade Mozzarella, Extra Virgin Olive Oil, Ricotta Cheese, Fresh Garlic and Basil).

The one below is the Bianca. I had some of both and the Italian Stallion was really delicious, the meats all worked well together and weren't overpowering. The Bianca was really light and delicious. Their house made mozzarella really made the difference between plain old pizza and a wonderful authentic wood fired pizza.

If you can stand the heat in Phoenix, try to make it to La Piazza Al Forno. I don't lie about pizza.
