I had some very good recommendations for dining in St. Louis, my thanks to Chef Dave Taylor at LaPoste in Cincinnati for his tips that can only come from a native St Louisan. I had some slight issues with public transportation but I eventually figured it out and made it there before they closed.
I was greeted, but on a weeknight the restaurant was dead. I decided to sit at the bar because it had the most people. The bartender recommended some house wines but I chose a Peroni beer, keeping it with the Italian theme.
I ordered their breaded artichokes. These were pretty good, and plentiful! There were enough to share, which I did with some other bar patrons. They were really good and juicy.
I then ordered the Pasta Sienna which was Stuffed Penne, Roasted Cut Roasted Brussel Sprouts,Roasted Red Onions, Chicken, Ham , Parmesian Cheese & Butter Garlic sauce. So unbelievably good, I didn't even know you could stuff penne!
I ate almost all of my entree and took some back to my hotel. Google maps failed me at times which led me to walking about a mile past the Botanical Garden to the next bus stop. It was a slow walk.
