Driving back from Phoenix

It seems like we've been on the road forever but really its only been 5 or 6 hours. Pat is still on the first leg of the drive and I'm getting ready to take a nap and rest up for the next leg at night. I get the leg with the elk and coyote watch. What fun!

We're left with some great stories from the trip. I killed a raccoon and ruined the bumper on our rented Prius. Pat got a speeding ticket in Arizona for driving at a criminally illegal speed. We went to Tombstone and had a fabulous time. We drove about 3 hours to see the Grand Canyon, where we saw a bald eagle in the wild. We also got to see our friend Phil who we've missed over the past year while he's in school.

This is the first real vacation we've had in a loooong time and will probably go to the top of the list as one of the favorites. If you have the willpower to begin such an undertaking, I highly recommend the drive to Arizona. It's a gorgeous drive that's chock full of diversions on the way. There's Route 66, Meteor Crater, Grand Canyon, Tombstone, Saguaro National Park, Petrified Forest National Park.

Kerry Toyota helped make this all possible by having the cheapest hybrid renal in town. 7 days for $200!

I tried to be prepared with groupons and restaurant.com coupons but we also strayed and ate at some great places like Matador and Uncle Al's in Phoenix, and Freddy's in Flagstaff.

Time for my beauty rest....
