Las Brisas

So we took an almost hour long shuttle ride to Laguna Beach to go to this restaurant which we were assured would be great. Well, not so great it seems. This was the weirdest Mexican restaurant I've been to. There were no chips and salsa. We were served breads, among them was cornbread. Weird. We ordered our food, most of the steaks were served with mashed potatoes. Also weird. I ordered a steak that came with a enchilada. Both were good, but there was nothing remarkable about anyone's meal.

We were promised a window table near the gorgeous view of Laguna Beach, but no. We were also told that our checks could be separated but both waiter and manager refused, flat out refused. We were forced to use a pad of paper and write down our order and give our payment. Even then the checks were still messed up. I was incredibly disappointed in the service of this restaurant, I will assuredly never come back.

I think you should be embarrassed to ask for the order to be split. Come on! How old are you? Like 12? If you go out to dinner with a group of people you need to be willing to throw down cash or a credit card and suck it up. No wonder people in the Midwest have a bad rap...people like you give it to us. BTW, your steak came with "an enchilada" not a enchilada. Did you also fail 6th grade English?

  2. First of all there were other issues involved.

Namely the fact that it was a party of 20 persons. We had issues with cash, personal and corporate credit and it wasn't as simple as "sucking it up". Those of us who work in the real world cannot just haphazardly put a companion's meal on our corporate card. I for one value an establishment that can perform simple tasks like associating an order number with a seat and providing an individual check. This is not some sort of new idea. It's kind of a standard practice and is called courtesy. By the tone of your post I can see this is a foreign concept to you. I'm not sure why you're satisfied to eat somewhere that has a.)mediocre food and b.)contentious service.

I do invite you to read all of my posts and find all of my innocent typos, since you have nothing else to do.
